Dr. Heather Vasser

Dr. Vasser excels in endoscopy with a higher volume of colonoscopies and upper endoscopies than many gastroenterologists. She is also skilled in laparoscopy, minimally invasive surgery and traditional open surgery. Dr. Vasser has practiced general surgery in Columbus since 2011. She is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery through UT Houston. She completed her general surgery residency at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialty from UTHealth Science Center at Houston's Cizik School of Nursing. She is licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing and certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, with a primary clinical background in surgery and emergency medicine.
